Northern Nevada MLS Engages on National Stage
NNRMLS Director of Data Integrity panelist for annual CMLS conference
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. (Sept. 2022) — Team members and leadership for the Northern Nevada Regional Multiple Listing Service engaged with colleagues nationally at CMLS2022-Accelerate, the trade association’s annual conference. Several NNRMLS board members and select staff accompanied CEO George Pickard at the Council of Multiple Listing Services’ three-day event.

CMLS is an association of 227 of MLSs focused on creating an efficient, vibrant, and transparent real estate market that benefits both the real estate professional and the consumer. The annual CMLS conference gives attendees the opportunity to connect with peers and colleagues and learn more about the topics driving the real estate industry.
Director of Data Integrity Misty Burch spoke authoritatively to the nearly 1,000 attendees during a panel called “Compliance … It’s Complicated.” Burch spoke about NNRMLS’s efforts to layer technology, best practices, and incentive structures to ensure accurate and timely MLS data.

Director of Marketing, Andrew Cristancho was tapped to help lead a packed room of industry professionals for MLS Matters, a discussion of best practices in member outreach, messaging, and education.
Technical Training Outreach Manager Chris Rock walked the stage as CMLS leaders presented the Sparks native with his CMLX2 certification; the second-highest certification available from CMLS. Rock and Support Tech Noah Ball earned their certifications last month. The CMLX program recognizes professional competencies in MLS management skills and real estate industry knowledge.

“I am so pleased that our team was able to engage at this national level and to help further CMLS’s mission of building a better marketplace through innovation and collaboration,” Pickard said.
NNRMLS Engagement with CMLS
This year’s conference is not the first time NNRMLS has engaged with CMLS. Cristancho served on CMLS’s Green Section Council from 2016 through 2019; two years as co-chair. The group ultimately produced the “CMLS Green Data Best Practices Guide for the MLS.” Cristancho also served as a presenter during CMLS’s online “MLS Matters – Training Challenges and Solutions” this past July. Additionally, CMLS tapped Burch to serve as a guest panelist for its “Brings it to The Table” event this past June where she discussed navigating policy implementations, bringing light to the importance of NAR’s Clear Cooperation Policy, the NNRMLS membership portal, and the internal systems that help NNRMLS and its members strive for excellence in data accuracy.
NNRMLS also regularly promotes CMLS’ In The Know campaign, which helps to tell the story of the Multiple Listing Service in a way that enhances the MLS’s and its members’ value.
One hundred percent of NNRMLS staff is CMLX certified.
